March for Meals
Broward Meals on Wheels is hosting our annual March for Meals campaign in March. We invite civic minded individuals, community leaders and businesses to "tour" Meals on Wheels by delivering or serving meals for one day in March to experience first hand the need in their community and what they can do to help.
Throughout the month, participating restaurants will also be helping raise awareness about Meals on Wheels by proudly displaying information about the services and programs in their businesses and accepting donations from their patrons.

Broward Meals on Wheels kicked off the holiday season on November 3, 2007 with its First Annual Chocolate Extravaganza. The event sought to raise public awareness about hunger and seniors’ needs in our community as well as raise funds to support senior nutrition services across the county.
Event sponsor Ed Morse Sawgrass AutoMall graciously opened up their Buick showroom to welcome Meals on Wheels supporters, family, and friends for the evening. Decadent chocolate treats were served to guests from event donors Chocolate Fountains of Hope, Whole Foods of Coral Springs, Cold Stone Creamer, the German Breadhaus, Sweet Touch by Hilda, Poppy’s Pizza, Sensational Confections and the Melting Pot in Cooper City.
“This event was amazing,” cited BMOW Fund Development Director Colleen Brown. “We made many new friends. Next year’s Extravaganza is a must for anyone who missed this one.”
A Dental Art hosted a special Kids Corner, which tempted younger guests with face painting, coloring, games, and prizes while their parents enjoyed a relaxing stroll through the aisles of chocolate temptations and silent auction items.
“It was wonderful to see Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook and his children, who held him hostage because they were having such a great time in the Kid’s Corner,” comments Brown.
Broward Meals on Wheels is partially funded through the State of Florida's Department of Elder Affairs and the ADRC, with funds made available by the Federal Older American's Act and Fair Share dollars.
