March for Meals Broward Meals on Wheels is hosting our annual March for Meals campaign in March. We invite civic minded individuals, community leaders and businesses to "tour" Meals on Wheels by delivering or serving meals for one day in March to experience first hand the need in their community and what they can do to help. Throughout the month, participating restaurants will also be helping raise awareness about Meals on Wheels by proudly displaying information about the services and programs in their businesses and accepting donations from their patrons. For more information or to join our campaign contact Colleen at 954-731-8770 ext 6927 or cbrown@bmow.org Click here for more details about this year's March for Meals campaign. Upcoming Events:
Read to Feed Seniors Each year Broward Schools are given the opportunity to participate in Read to Feed Seniors in the springs. The seven year old program offers students encouragement to read while giving them the opportunity to learn about the needs of seniors in their community and help. This year, Broward Meals on Wheels are hoping to expand our school participation. Volunteers are needed to help contact and coordinate school programs. Call Colleen at 954-731-8770 ext 6927 for more information. Click here for more up to date information about Read to Feed Seniors. Volunteer Opportunities

Assistance in Florida : What other help is available? There is a wide variety of services available for seniors in any local community. Services such as meals, transportation, senior aids, cleaning, adult day care, and respite services for family to name a few. Many of these services can be provided through a government funded agency and/or through a local private company. All programs are not administered identically. Qualifications for government subsidized services and processes may be different at each location.
Where can I find help? The quickest way to contact or find government subsidized senior services in any area is to look in the yellow pages under senior services or to contact the local Area Agency on Aging. They should have the numbers to the local Meals on Wheels, Senior Centers, and senior service agencies. THE TELPHONE LISTINGS BELOW CONTAIN ALL THE PHONE NUMBERS AND CONTACTS BROWARD MEALS ON WHEELS HAS. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL REQUESTS FOR OTHER PHONE NUMBERS OUTSIDE OF OUR AREA. READ BELOW TO FIND THE BEST CONTACT FOR YOUR AREA OR NEEDS. THANK YOU. Florida Department of Elder Affairs:
