BMOW Office volunteers can perform a variety of tasks depending upon their skill, time,
Volunteer tasks can include:
•filing
•data entry
•shredding
•stuffing newsletters
•preparing mailings
•telephone surveys
•Assist with special projects and events as needed
Requirements: Volunteers must have their own transportation to our office. Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4 pm. (Volunteers can ask if there are tasks they can take home to complete.)
Broward Meals on Wheels’ Board of Directors is a group of community-minded individuals who lend their knowledge, experience, and expertise to BMOW.
This governing council:
•Contributes to defining the organization’s mission
•Governs the fulfillment of that mission
•Gives guidance and advice in matters pertaining to the operation and expansion of the agency
•Oversees the proper management of funds and resources
•Ensures the integrity of the agency and our mission
Our Board of Directors meets quarterly. Members often sit on other working BMOW Project Committees to lend further support to the agency’s operations and growth. A list of current Project Committees is on the back page.
Special Committees
Broward Meals on Wheels has two standing Committees: Fund-raising and Community Relations. Both committees work on special projects to assist our agency raise funds, educate the community, and reach out to those in need.
We have several projects for 2007 including boosting our Speaker's Bureau, a large scale volunteer recruitment campaign, our annual March for Meals campaign, a new and improved Broward Dine Out, and building our Read to Feed program.
